TechFest at Bookbug Sessions

If you are going to a Bookbug Session in September, you are sure of a roaring good time, as libraries gear up for their annual partnership with TechFest. The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) team have come up with the idea of linking stories,  to science or counting activities suitable for young children,  to help build babies brains!

Bookbug Sessions are story, song and rhyme sessions for families with children aged from birth to 4. These free and fun sessions take place in many libraries and have been steadily growing in popularity in recent years.

Tech Fest has produced some activity sheets for families attending Bookbug Sessions in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City. The activities link to “Ten Terrible Dinosaurs” By Paul Stickland, a lovely bright and colourful picture book. Its rhyming text makes it an ideal book for sharing with your children, with plenty of scope for counting up to 10, as well.

The story will be read at September Bookbug Sessions across Aberdeenshire, and a copy of the book will also be raffled at each session  so a family will take home a copy to keep!

What are you waiting for? Take your children along to a session near you!
