Coming soon to libraries in Aberdeenshire, a great line-up of Book Week Scotland Events starting on Monday 23rd. November. Book Week Scotland is for everyone and celebrates whatever it is that you enjoy to read.
Delighted to say that wow factor names like Ann Cleeves, Chris Brookmyre and Mark Beaumont are all appearing in or near libraries during this week.
In the spirit of Book Week Scotland, these events are all free, so please come along and meet these excellent and inspirational personalities. It would be advisable however, to book ahead, by contacting the venue libraries.
A first in Aberdeenshire, Zombie Science: Brain of the Dead will be on tour, taking in Kintore and Meldrum libraries, when Doctor Howe will present a spoof lecture on the science behind the Zombie brain!! The Kintore session starts at 7.00pm on Monday 23rd. so ideal as a family outing! You never quite know what to expect in your local library!
Whodunnit secrets will be revealed in Westhill Library on the 25th. when Ann Cleeves comes to call. Having just published her seventh ‘Vera’ mystery, she’ll talk about her crime writing career and happily take questions from the floor.
Mark Beaumont is well known as a record breaking endurance cyclist, broadcaster and writer. Come and meet him at the Acorn Centre in Inverurie on the 26th. and be inspired by his spirit of adventure.
Humour, social comment, political comment and of course clever crime plots are the hallmarks of Chris Brookmyre’s award winning novels. Have a great evening in the company of the master of tartan noir in the new Ellon Community Campus on the 25th.
Aberdeenshire’s own well known local author, Maggie Craig will be in the brand new Alford Community Campus Library on Saturday 21st, immediately preceding Book Week Scotland, bringing her books to life as she talks about her fiction and non-fiction writing.
