Very remiss of me not to have posted sooner about this excellent day. A great time was had by all on a beautiful sunny June Saturday in Laurencekirk.
The new Mearns Community Library was a fantastic venue for our annual Readers Day. Lots of readers came along, some from as far afield as Ellon, and were entertained and enthralled by our visiting authors Lisa Ballantyne, Ajay Close and Craig Robertson who enthusiastically spoke throughout the afternoon and answered a multitude of questions from 3 separate groups of avid readers. Much enjoyed also, were the cakes and coffees and a huge thanks should be extended to Waterstones, who came from Aberdeen to sell books.
The conversation was non-stop, the quiz was a challenging talking point and everyone had the chance to talk to their heart’s content about books and reading!
If you haven’t already, why not add Lisa, Ajay and Craig to your reading list.
The concensus is that we love meeting authors and we love our books!
Thanks to all who came, to our authors and to the Mearns Library staff – everyone contributed so much to the day’s success.
Another date for your diary – Mearns Library will be hosting a tea party with author Sara Sheridan on the 8th. September.
