Brilliant Book Week Authors

What a great week of Book Week Scotland events we have just had. This annual Scottish celebration of books and reading ran from the 24th. to the 30th. November and Aberdeenshire’s libraries  had a very busy and enjoyable time.
In particular, we can thank some excellent authors who came along to help us celebrate.

MaggieGroupBalmedieBlogLocal author Maggie Craig, talked about  intrigue, romance and rebels and her favourite Jacobite hero, Lord Pitsligo to appreciative audiences in New Pitsligo and Balmedie libraries.

CrudenBayFionaBlogLocal historian, Dr. Fiona-Jane Brown revealed some of the quirky local stories and anecdotes of the north-east coast to a great audience in Cruden Bay library.

Jess Smith author

In Mearns Community Library, Perthshire author Jess Smith described with great warmth, growing up in a Scottish Traveller family. Her passion and determination to record and remember the heritage of travelling folk is wonderful.
To round it all off, local novelist, Nancy Jardine visited Inverurie Library to describe her experiences of writing and getting published, whilst Aboyne Library hosted a book signing session with author David York.

Thanks again to all our great authors and audiences and Happy Reading in 2015!
