The theme for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, Go Wild With Books, captured the imagination of children all over Aberdeenshire. Thousands of children took part in Aberdeenshire Libraries’ Summer Reading Challenge. Participation has increased every year with children reading books to obtain incentive prizes, writing book reviews or taking part in a craft based competition.
New for 2013, there were 3 levels of challenge to allow opportunity for progression. Children had to read 6 books then decide whether they wanted to continue to the next level.
Alongside the reading challenge, there was also a Collage Competition, which attracted a wide variety of entries on the theme of Year of Natural Scotland. The beautiful and diverse array of materials used to make these imaginative creations was astounding. Take a look for yourself at
